Ultramarinos Surf School's Commitment to Web Accessibility
At WAVE & ROLL, S.L. (“Ultramarinos Surf School”), we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible and usable by everyone, including those with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive disabilities, by following international accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and complying with Spanish law, specifically:
- Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI).
- Law 51/2003, of December 2, on equal opportunities, non-discrimination, and universal accessibility for people with disabilities.
- Royal Decree 1112/2018, of September 7, on the accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications.
1. Accessibility Principles
Our website follows the accessibility principles defined by the W3C:
- Perceivable: all content is presented in a way that can be perceived by users, including alternative text for images and captions for multimedia content when necessary.
- Operable: the website can be navigated and used via keyboard and other assistive devices, and all links, menus, and forms are accessible.
- Understandable: the information and functionality of the website are clear and understandable, using simple and consistent language.
- Robust: the website is compatible with various assistive technologies, browsers, and devices, ensuring the correct interpretation of content.
2. Measures Taken
To ensure the accessibility of our site, we have implemented measures such as:
- Use of alternative text for images and important graphic elements.
- Sufficient contrast between text and background to facilitate reading.
- Compatibility with screen readers and modern browsers.
- Accessible forms with clear labels and field descriptions.
- Keyboard navigation and keyboard shortcuts.
- Avoiding content that flickers or may cause discomfort to people with photosensitive epilepsy.
3. Accessibility Limitations
Despite our efforts, some linked external content or documents may not fully comply with accessibility criteria. In particular, integrated booking and payment systems (Amelia, Stripe) and embedded third-party content (videos, maps, social media) depend on the respective providers. In these cases, the user will be informed and an accessible alternative will be offered whenever possible.
